It's No Longer a Dilemma but a Quest

Say hi to Nick, from Ambassador Fine Cigars he's the fella in the back of this photo.

At some point in the last two weeks I smoked this bad boy.  Number 20 on the Cigar Afficionado Top 25 of 2011, it's the La Reloba Selección Sumatra Torpedo, the the perfect smoke for Sumatra Sundays or Torpedo Tuesday.

Also smoked, at somepoint in the last week, was the No. 10 on the list the Casa Magna Colorado Diadema...Not bad, just think there were other cigars on the list, that should have rated in the Top10...No offense just my humble opinion
Had only a few minutes today to enjoy a cigar, so I popped into Cigar King and here's what was suggested...a perfectly aged 2008 Illusione MK Petite Corona...all I am going to say is they have only a few boxes left of this little gem...

On a sad note many of us were shocked today by the news of Bruce Gaudet's passing  Bruce was General Cigar's rep in AZ and an all around good guy...he will be missed.   RIP Bruce   http://www.azfamily.com/home/Townhome-fire-turns-into-homicide-investigation-138344659.html

Dilemma Update

It's been a smoking week, mostly at Ambassador Fine Cigars in Scottsdale.  They make it easy to find the Cigars on the Cigar Afficionado top 25.  This is the #2 La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor.  I forgot how much I enjoy box pressed cigars.

This was a funny little story, there we were sitting in the lounge, the place was packed and everyone  is pretty much smoking something off the Cigar Afficionado top 25 cause well thats how we roll.

Here is an actual transcript of a conversation that I had with a Rob

Me: "So what are your thoughts on the top 25 so far?"

Rob:  "I developed my own rating system. ++ I'm buying a box, + I'm buying a couple of singles - I can take it or leave it -- not going to smoke it is again  Basically I like some, mostly + , some are OK mostly -, some I dont like, those are the --  but man that Camacho at #24 (Camacho Corojo Figurado) I cant even rate in fact  I cant even be in the room with anyone who is smoking that.  what are you smoking"

Me: "The Camacho Corojo Figurado at #24"

Rob:  "Hmmm"

Fast Forward 20 Minutes

Me:  "Rob you're still here."

Rob: "I know..."

I love this cigar, should have ranked higher...

WE ARE

008Sad Today….This morning we lost Joseph Vincent Paterno. Our beloved Coach, Educator and Humanitarian.

Don Henninger, Penn State class of 1978 and Publisher of the Phoenix Business Journal said it best. “The best of JoePa stays with us: values, integrity, perspective, success. A life worth remembering”

Thanks Coach, your contributions to the University that we all know and love are immeasurable..

The Alec Bradley Prensado, Cigar Aficionado's No #1 Cigar of 2011, is a fitting smoke for today.

Major Dilemma compounded

Earlier in the week, Cigar Aficionado added to my dilemma by posting the entire list of of the Top 25 Cigars of 2011. Since it was Maduro Monday I opted for the Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Exclusivo Maduro. I love this Cigar, in fact it could become my go to cigar for Maduro Mondays.

Not being a quitter I press on, to a second cigar of the day, this time opting for #17 on the list of the Top 25 Cigars of 2011,  the Winston Churchill Chartwell.

The dilemma rages on!

Wild Card Sunday and the Dilemma

Things are moving along just swimmingly. A New York Football Giants victory over the Atlanta Falcons paired with #7 a Cabaiguan Guapo (bottom photo) which was immediately followed by the Denver Bronco's and the #6, on the list of Cigar Aficionado magazines top 10 Cigars of 2011, the Rocky Patel Fifteenth Anniversary Torpedo (top photo).

Happy Sunday All

Update on the Dilemma

I have decided to work my way down the list. Starting with the #9 Cigar of 2011 according to Cigar Aficionado the Warlock Robusto.

Major Dilemma

So a couple of weeks ago I talked about idea of Maduro Monday, Torpedo Tues (still very viable), Wavell Wednesday, Toro Thursday, Full Bodied Friday, Shaggy Saturday, and Sumatra Sunday. In all actuality it was kind of, as Mrs. M used to say, a  pain in the back of the lap. Especially when it came to finding a Wavell.  So I have sinced deemed this optional.

So heres the dilema, Ambassador Fine Cigars in Scottsdale put together a bundle package containing 6 of Cigar Aficionado's top 10 cigars for 2011, at $57 this is a terrific value!

#9 Warlock Robusto
#7 Cabaiguan Guapo
#6 Rocky Patel Fifteenth Anniversary Torpedo
#5 Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Exclusivo Maduro
#2 La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Belicoso
#1 Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill

Yesterday, while at the shop, I enjoyed the #5 Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Exclusivo Maduro.  My question to you is simply"What to smoke next when I am out on the Hillbilly Hilton?"

Sundays Out On The Hillbilly Hilton

It's a beautiful day, 78 degrees, out on the Hillbilly Hilton. It's Sunday so it's a Sumatra Sunday! This Sundays smoke is a Kristoff Sumatra

Themed Cigar Smoking Day's The End Result

So Thursday afternoon we finally figured it out, Yup the whole week...
Maduro Monday
Torpedo Tuesday
Wavell Wednesday (this could be difficult)
Toro Thursday
Full Bodied Friday
Shaggy Saturday
Sumatra Sunday...
Truthfully, while kinda fun, this is trulya Royal PITA,  I did it for a week, and Friday I really wasn't in the mood for a full bodied stick but I sucked it up and smoked one anyway.
Stay tuned, and I later today I will show what I am smoking for Sumatra Sunday....
